Farmfoods sales and Profits heat up

CUMBERNAULD based frozen foods retailer, Farmfoods has recorded its highest level of sales, in the company's history.

The company, which has over 300 stores, UK wide saw revenue rise to £579million, in 2010, up £90 million from the previous year.

Due to the unexpected increase in revenue Farmfoods were able to employ nearly 3'000 people throughout the year.

Business7.co.uk noted on their website that accounts showed that pre-tax profits went up from £13.8 million to £17.7 million, whilst, at the same time, net debt fell by more than £4 million to £22.37 million.

Farmfoods started back in 1954 and has grown massively since then; it was once voted one of Scotland's fastest growing businesses.

Farmfoods declined to comment on the news.
