THE group behind Cumbernauld’s Community Park are urging as many people as possible to show their support at a public consultation on whether or not Cumbernauld Community Park should have a children's play park.

The Community Park and North Lanarkshire Council are keen to hear from local people and get their perspective on the matter.

In a post on the group’s website, the Community Park said: "The size of play area is about the same size as Colzium or Palacerigg and the intention is that it will be a "destination" Play Park such that it is worth getting in the car with children, where people can come from other parts of the town (or beyond) and where they can park at the school and enjoy the facility."

The consultation will be held on the 11th of May, from 7pm, in the main hall of the Cumbernauld/ St. Andrew's Joint Campus.
