NORTH Lanarkshire Council is urging people to take advantage of the Cumbernauld 10K "Early Bird Discount," before time runs out.
With less than 10 weeks less to go until the event takes place at Broadwood Stadium, on Sunday 11th September, people are being encouraged to take up North Lanarkshire Council's "Early Bird Discount," and help break the record, set at last year's event, of 540 participants.
Although normal registration, for the event, closes on September 1st, the "Early Bird Discount" offer expires on August 1st. The "Early Bird Discount" could get you up to half price off of your registration fee, and it’s even cheaper if you’re a member of Access NL or Passport to Leisure.

Commenting, Councillor Gerry McElroy, Chair of Campsies Centre Cumbernauld Ltd, Race Sponsors, said: “The Cumbernauld 10k is a great fun way to get involved in running and improve your fitness. Having a date to aim for gives people an incentive for their training, so I hope people will sign up for this year’s race and join the fun. And there’s an added bonus of registering before 1 August to receive our Early Bird discount.”
In addition to the main 10k event, which starts at 11.00am, there will also be a 1k race, for primary 5, 6 and 7 pupils from 10.00am and a 3k race for S1 to S4 pupils at 11.05am.
To register for the race, go to www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk or www.q-busters.co.uk or call 01236 437756.
