First fares on the rise

FROM yesterday fares onboard First Group buses, in Cumbernauld, increased. First Group plc said that these fare increases were necessary due to "continued rising costs," after fares became static, during an April freeze.
The new fares have already been implemented and single/ return journeys between stops may increase, depending on the distance. The new multi-journey fares are below.

Cumbernauld X Return will increase to £3.70, from £3.40, The Cumbernauld X Card will increase from £13 to £14 and a Cumbernauld First Week will go up to £13.
A spokesperson for the organisation said: "Customers are advised that, from Sunday 17 July 2011, a small number of local fares which were either frozen or reduced in April's fare change will be reviewed. This review has been necessary due to continued rising costs."
