WHETHER you’re a casual walker or competitive runner it's time to get your application in for the Cumbernauld 1K, 3K or 10K events taking place in just under three weeks’ time.

With nineteen days until the event, North Lanarkshire Council are urging people to get their application forms in, before the application deadline in seven days (September 1st).

Event organising partners, NHS Lanarkshire said how "delighted" they were to be involved in the event.

NHS Lanarkshire's Service Manager, Ross McGuffie said: "We are delighted to be involved in this day, encouraging local residents of all ages to come along and take part in some healthy physical activity. The event has increased in size every year and we're hoping for our most successful race yet on 11th September!"

The whole day won't just be comprised of races, oh no. Throughout the day there will also be a chance to have great fun- even if you’re not racing, with a whole raft of activities and entertainment at Broadwood Stadium, where all the races will start.

Events range from bouncy castles to football, and golf to sumo fun- so mark the date in your diary- Sunday 11th September.

The first race of the day will be the Children's 1K race, for pupils in primaries 1 to 5, with the 10K starting gun firing off at 11am, whilst the 3K event will see pupils in S1 to S4 starting their journey at 11.05am.

If you want to sign up you can visit North Lanarkshire Council's website or telephone 01236 437756.
