Council Christmas gift collection arrangements announced

AS COUNCIL cuts see budgets slashed by as much as 20%, North Lanarkshire Council have announced the continuation of their annual Christmas "gift".

The £15 gift, which is handed out by North Lanarkshire Council, throughout December, is given to people aged over sixty years old and living in the North Lanarkshire Council area.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth residents will be able to collect their gift between 9.30am and 2pm, on the 19th and 26th of November, or on the 3rd of December. Alternatively, gifts can be collected between 9.30am and 4pm on Monday 5th December and Thursday 8th December.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth over 60s' can go to one of three local collection offices:
•2/4 Forth Walk, Cumbernauld 
•Parkfoot Street, Kilsyth 
•Blackwoods Crescent, Moodiesburn 

Identification must be shown on collection, and forms of ID accepted include:
•Bank statement              
•Bus pass 
•Birth certificate 
•Council tax bill 
•Driving licence 
•DWP letter re-pension 
•Heating allowance notice 
•Household bill 
•Passport 
•Prescription
