THE campaign to Get Cumbernauld Healthy got underway on Christmas Day with a fun filled charity bootcamp.

The event in aid of Cancer Research UK has to date raised over £1100 and the total is still rising.

With fancy dress in abundance, the participants really got into the spirit of the day and made 'mincemeat' of the 11am workout in the car park of Tesco Craigmarloch.

Organiser John Allan (43) said:  "I'm delighted with the response we've had from everyone. It speaks volumes about the people that actually gave up an hour of their time on Christmas day to come down and participate and help us raise funds for such an amazing cause.Everyone has been really generous."

He added: "For those that would like to donate and further boost our total, you can visit www.justgiving.com/getcumbernauldhealthy"

There are more free events, workshops, seminars and giveaways planned for throughout 2013 in a bid to reach as many people as possible.

To be kept up to date with the latest visit www.GetCumbernauldHealthy.com, where you can claim your FREE 90 recipe cookbook.
