CUMBERNAULD Village has continued its award winning streak, taking yet another award from Beautiful Scotland.

Beautiful Scotland is an environmental campaign in Scotland, which takes part as a nation in the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Britain in Bloom campaign. It is run by Keep Scotland Beautiful for communities who are working to improve and enhance their local area.

Last year’s prize winners have been announced and Cumbernauld Village has once again walked away with its third silver award.

“The Beautiful Scotland judges have given Cumbernauld Village a silver award for 2012,” reads a statement on the Cumbernauld Village promotional website. “So we’ve got silver for three years running.”

“The judges give points for colourful floral displays, so it’s been great to see more and more people putting up hanging baskets, window boxes or tubs with flowers outside their homes or businesses. They really brighten up the Village, so thanks everyone for putting these out and making the Village a nicer place to live,” the statement adds.
