CUMBERNAULD’S once great Ice House is suggested to have been rented out – but who exactly too?

In article in August last year, we brought you the news that a national retailer was in talks with the owner of the property.

We can now name the retailer involved in talks. It was Aldi.

Now, however, the unit is being cleaned and the roof repaired, suggesting that Cumbernauld’s St. Mungo’s Road Retail Park could soon have another retailer in it.

Cumbernauld Media decided to find out whether or not Aldi was the retailer moving into the unit. However, little success was found, as Aldi confirmed that it hadn’t taken over the unit.

“It’s not Aldi who are moving into Cumbernauld,” a company spokesman told Cumbernauld Media.

The confirmation now leaves the issue of who the new occupiers of the unit are in darkness – a surprise which is yet to be announced.
