CUMBERNAULD residents have been invited to the town’s ‘Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event’.

The event is being hosted by Jamie Hepburn SNP MSP for Cumbernauld and Kilsyth, who announced, earlier this week, that he will be hosting an Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event in conjunction with Citizens Advice Bureau Scotland.

The event will take place on Friday 19th April 2013 between 10.00am and 2.00pm and will be held at Cumbernauld New Town Hall.

Commenting Mr Hepburn said: “I am very much looking forward to hosting the Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event in conjunction with Citizens Advice Bureau and hope that many people from across Cumbernauld and Kilsyth will take advantage of the advice and services on offer and drop into Cumbernauld New Town Hall on 19th April.”

The event is entirely free and is open to all members of the public.  Mr Hepburn will be available to speak to at the event as will members of Citizens Advice Bureau, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Unemployed Workers Centre, North Lanarkshire Women’s Aid and Cumbernauld Action Care for the Elderly (CACE), amongst other local organisations.   Energy providers such as Scottish Power and Scottish Hydro will also be on hand to offer specific advice regarding the best energy deals available to individuals.

The MSP continued: “I am aware that Citizens Advice Bureau has helped organise similar events across Scotland which have been widely regarded as successful and I hope that the Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing Event in Cumbernauld New Town Hall, will offer the same well received assistance to the people of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth.”

Students from Cumbernauld College will be in attendance at the event and will be showcasing the skills of their restaurant “Taste” and the hair and beauty salon within the college “Fusion”.  The students will be offering hand massages, food samples and hair styling.  Peak Fitness 4 U will also be attending and will be offering BMI checks as well as bone density tests, and will be able to offer excellent health and fitness advice.  Strathclyde Fire and Rescue will also be participating and will be available to provide fire safety tips.

Mr Hepburn is strongly encouraging the people of Cumbernauld and Kilsyth to attend the event and make sure they utilise the advice and support on offer, and of course take advantage of the free services that will generously be provided.

Mr Hepburn added: “I would like to extend an open invitation to all my constituents, both individuals and groups across Cumbernauld and Kilsyth and hope that they will enjoy joining me at the Energy Best Deal and Wellbeing event on 19th April at Cumbernauld New Town Hall.”
