ONE Cumbernauld resident has contacted Cumbernauld Media to talk of his dismay at the lack of street cleanliness when it comes to horse excrement.

The local resident was concerned upon learning that horse droppings had been left as a present for passers-by, using the underpass connecting the path adjacent to Bron Way, sandwiched between the Link Community Centre and the Tryst Sports Centre to Stoneylee Road, leading then onto the Gully.

Reports and complaints had apparently come in about the horse excrement from Monday, 1st April, 2013, although the same resident claims that the rather unsavoury gift remained until that Thursday.

One local resident told Cumbernauld Media: “Why does it take four days to shift a pile of shit from a public walkway that's just metres from the council’s offices? After all, the council seem to keep their area nice and pristine, so why not the rest of the area?”

The concerns came after North Lanarkshire Council launched its ‘Enough’s Enough’ campaign, aimed at forcing dog owners to pick up after their beloved pooches.

No response was able to be obtained from North Lanarkshire Council before the publication of this article.
