Cumbernauld's MP "pleased" at Village's Jubilee Park play area progress

ON Tuesday, 9th April, 2013, Cumbernauld Media published the story of how Cumbernauld Village’s Jubilee Park would have a brand new children’s play area by May.

In attendance at the sod cutting ceremony, on Monday 8th April, were representatives of the local community; the community council; North Lanarkshire Council; and, the Village Community Council.

Taking part in the ceremony was Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East, Labour MP, Gregg McClymont. 

The Labour man said that he was “pleased” to attend the ceremony.

Gregg said: "The sod cutting marks the early stages of construction which got underway last week, and I was pleased to attend the ceremony.

“All credit must go to the Jubilee Play Park Group who have worked tirelessly to secure funding for the project to go ahead.

“I am also pleased that North Lanarkshire Council has undertaken to provide the funding for ongoing maintenance of the park going forward.

“This is a great community facility which will no doubt be well used by children in the area.”
