THERE is now less than one month until the What’s On 4 Juniors awards come to a close and, that means you’ve got ‘til 28th May to cast your vote your favourite clubs and club leaders, across the nation.

In the running, and from Cumbernauld is Heather Royan, from Westerwood, who runs the Bishopbriggs, Cumbernauld and Kilsyth Toddler Sense group.

Heather has been nominated as the ‘Most Outstanding Activities Leader for the Under 5s, in Scotland and Northern Ireland’, as part of the annual ‘What's On 4 Junior Awards’, in association with Konfidence reward; an award which attempts to identify the nation’s best children’s activity leaders

Talking to Cumbernauld Media, last month, Heather said: “I started the local Toddler Sense in 2011.”

The married mother-of-three added: “I was looking for something which was family flexible, enabling me to spend more time with my family; Toddler Sense gave me this opportunity – the best of both worlds.”

Heather told Cumbernauld Media, last month, that her nomination was a “surprise” but that to be nominated was an “honour.” Heather told Cumbernauld Media that her nomination came as a “surprise” from the parents of toddlers at her group, claiming she only found out when an e-mail informed her that she was in the final list.

Heather said: “It’s a complete honour to have been nominated.

“I’m really touched to have been nominated. It came as a complete surprise, only after a number of the parents involved with my group nominated me without my knowledge; with an e-mail telling me that I was in the running being my only notification.”
