CUMBERNAULD charity, Cumbernauld Action Care for the Elderly – Older People, Active Lives says they are “happy” at the success of their new “Best Practice in Dementia Care Learning Programme” award.

The local charity’s comments come after a number of CACE staff members were awarded the charity’s new certificates in “Best Practice in Dementia Care Learning Programme”.

As part of the “Best Practice in Dementia Care Learning Programme” award, the participating staff members had to undergo a six month course on dementia awareness training.

Commenting, Ann Jones, training manager for CACE said: “I’m more than happy with the outcome of our first dementia awareness course, the interest shown from people eager to educate themselves was great. To see everyone pass & receive their certificate was fantastic.”

Following the success, Ms Jones has made herself available to deliver the “Best Practice in Dementia Care Learning Programme” training course to any local groups, interested in training their staff members, with a shorter and less intense course available for volunteers. Anybody interested in taking up the course should telephone the CACE office on 01236 451 393 or email them through their website, at www.careatcace.com
