NHS Lanarkshire to host stroke education event

NHS Lanarkshire will host an educational stroke event, in Wishaw; aiming to “highlight a range of stroke initiatives across services…” according to NHS Lanarkshire.

The event is being held by the NHS Lanarkshire Stroke Managed Clinical Network (MCN), with the free event open to patients, carers and volunteers or those who work in health or social care.

The event will take place on Thursday 9 May, from 1.30pm to 4pm, in the Ronald Miller Centre at Wishaw General Hospital.

Commenting, Campbell Chalmers, NHS Lanarkshire stroke nurse consultant, describes the event’s main aim, of hoping to “bring together” a “range of people”.

He said: “The event aims to bring together a range of people with an interest in stroke, from people affected, including patients and carers, to professionals in health care, social services, research, education and the voluntary sector.

“The event will highlight a range of stroke initiatives across services as well as research and education.”
