The group’s Facebook page describes the playgroup’s main as being “to create a fun, friendly, relaxed environment for parents and children to come and meet others, to build relationships, friendships and improve their social skills.”

However, the playgroup doesn’t centre across play activities. Instead, the group focuses on advice, education and prevention.

“Our playgroup is not only for play but I will be inviting public figures to make the children aware of such things as stranger danger, fire safety, healthy eating and recycling,” the group’s Facebook adds.

“ It's also a great way for parents to get out and get involved in something after having children as we all know how lonely it can be. This can also help build self-esteem and confidence in the parents. There will also be public figures invited to make the parents aware that there is help out there for every situation such as, stop smoking support, keep fit classes, post natal depression, women’s aid, adult learning, and more.”

The group’s sale will be held this Saturday (11th May, 2013) in the Link Centre, between 1pm and 4pm.
