Local politicians take tour of Condorrat Parish Church

ONE Cumbernauld Parish Church welcomed two local politicians, this week.

Condorrat Parish Church presented a tour of the building to Labour MP for Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East MP, Gregg McClymont as well as Central Scotland Labour MSP, Mark Griffin.

As part of their visit, the two Labour politicians were greeted to a tour of the Parish building, with both politicians pledging their support to the church’s fundraising team, as the parish move towards a refurbishment.

The visit of the Labour men follows a £30,000 award to Condorrat Parish Church from North Lanarkshire’s Environmental Key Fund towards; a pay-out which will aid in the completion of the refurbishment of the building. However, the fundraising drive continues this weekend with the Annual Summer Fete on Saturday 18th at 12 noon.

Commenting, Cumbernauld MP, Gregg McClymont said: “It was a pleasure to visit Condorrat Parish Church and offer my support to parishioners in their fundraising efforts. I look forward to opening their Fete this Saturday and would encourage other locals to come down and join in the fun.”

Adding to Mr McClymont’s comments, Labour Central Scotland MSP, Mark said: “I hope that the hard work and determination of everyone at Condorrat Parish Church pays off and building work can start soon.”
