CUMBERNAULD’S Condorrat Parish Church raised over £1,000 towards their refurbishment programme.

Cumbernauld, Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch East’s Labour MP, Gregg McClymont showed up to the Parish to open to the church’s annual summer fete.

The proceedings got underway at noon, lasting until 2pm, with a number of stalls available for willing visitors to the fete.

“Despite wet weather Condorrat Parish Church’s Summer Fete held on Saturday 18th May was a great success,” a church spokesperson told Cumbernauld Media.

“It was opened by Gregg McClymont MP and a really good crowd came along to enjoy the event which raised £1,444 towards our Sanctuary Refurbishment Project.  A big vote of thanks to all involved.”

Shortly after opening the fete, Mr McClymont tweeted about how opening the fete was a “pleasure”, before having a go at the rainy weather.

The Labour MP tweeted: “Pleasure to open Condorrat Parish Church summer fete. Thanks to Rev Grace Saunders. Shame about Cumbernauld weather!”
