AFTER going live, our article on the new tenants of Cumbernauld’s vacant Ice House property, on St Mungo’s Road quickly became one of the most read, this week – despite being online for mere minutes.

However, Cumbernauld Media must now rectify the situation and say that we got some details wrong; details which only came to our attention post-publication.

Tony Macaroni has in fact submitted a planning application to construct a class 3 restaurant with ancillary take away, car parking and landscaping on Central Way, at the old Esso petrol station.

The application was permitted on 24th April 2013 and the statement still stands, from the firm, that the new restaurant will open later this year.

Although the article was correct in suggesting that Tony Macaroni were to open a Cumbernauld branch, we do apologise for the inaccuracies surrounding the new restaurant’s location.

Nonetheless, the article was only suggestive of the new location and never said definitively that the firm were to open up at Cumbernauld Ice House.

We apologise for the error, although as ever, the article stirred a debate – the best reaction any media outlet would wish from their stories.
