LANARKSHIRE heart patients have been invited to attend a special seminar, which will provide patients with advice, information and tips on healthy living.

The annual heart open day – organised by NHS Lanarkshire - will be held on Friday 14 June at the Glo Centre in Motherwell, running from 10am to 3.30pm.

The event has been organised by NHS Lanarkshire’s Coronary Heart Disease Network which develops care for cardiac patients in Lanarkshire, and has been described as “very popular”, by Maureen Carroll, the Coronary Heart Disease Network manager for NHS Lanarkshire.

Ms Carroll added: “The annual heart open day has become a very popular event which allows patients the opportunity to pick up some valuable tips on healthy living.

“It is also a good opportunity to promote the Coronary Heart Disease Network and encourage patients to become involved in the work we do. This can be at any level, whether it is attending our patients group or simply receiving information by post.”

Those taking part can enjoy a healthy food demonstration, a healthy living exhibition and listen to presentations on heart related topics, with a free heart-healthy lunch also being provided for those who attend.

If you would like more details or would like to come along on the day. Contact Andrea Harrison on 01355 585186 or email andrea.harrison@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk
