THE transport department of North Lanarkshire Council is preparing to hit the road as the council announces that the department will move its operational base.

North Lanarkshire Council’s Road and Transportation department will move in the coming days, to Cumbernauld’s Fleming House.

A statement on the council’s website reads: “Our Roads and Transportation teams are moving to Fleming House at 2 Tryst Road, Cumbernauld G67 1JW.”

Fleming House is an operational headquarters for many North Lanarkshire Council service departments and became one of the authority’s first locations for eco-friendly electric-powered staff pool cars.
