Cumbernauld Town Centre's new owners is revealed

CUMBERNAULD Town Centre now has a new owner.

For months speculation has been rife about just who the new owner of Cumbernauld’s much aligned town centre would be. 

Today the new owner was announced as Scottish businessman, John Boyle; founder of Direct Holidays, Mr Boyle, has set up Hamcap (Cumbernauld) LL, alongside key business partners from his property investment business, The Hamilton Portfolio Ltd.

Cumbernauld Town Centre was reportedly purchased by Mr Boyle for over £3million, although when the centre first went onto the market the price tag was around £3.5million.

Cumbernauld Town Centre is the original part of the Cumbernauld centre project and comprises of tenants such as the Royal Bank of Scotland, RS McColls and the Post Office.

A spokesman for The Hamilton Portfolio Limited told the Cumbernauld News that a company “asset management strategy” would, “…address the current vacancies within the centre and greatly improve the offer within the town…”, with the spokesman adding that details of how the company would undertake this work available soon.
