MORE information about the new owners of Cumbernauld Town Centre has been made available.

As Cumbernauld Media reported earlier, today, the company behind the purchase was The Hamilton Portfolio Limited; a Glasgow-based private investment company, founded in 1999, who represent a number of entrepreneurs and investors, with the firm having a number of syndicates in a number of sectors, with more than £500 million invested in commercial property, hotels, land, residential developments and private equity.

Talking to Cumbernauld Media a spokeswoman for The Hamilton Portfolio said that a new company was created in order to purchase Cumbernauld Town Centre.

She said: “Hamcap (Cumbernauld) LLP has concluded the purchase of Cumbernauld Town Centre from CNC Investments Ltd (In Administration).

“Hamcap is the first joint venture vehicle between Hamilton Capital Partners and Belgate Estates.”

The spokeswoman added that Hamcap had a management strategy for the centre, which would be laid out in detail within due course.

The spokeswoman added: “Hamcap have an asset management strategy for the centre which will address the current vacancies within the centre and greatly improve the offer within the town and more details on this will be announced in due course.”

The man heading up The Hamilton Portfolio Limited is John Boyle OBE, who helped to found the company, in 1999.

John, right, is a former ABTA chairman and continues to be a non-executive director in a number of limited companies. Although, before helping to found The Hamilton Portfolio Limited, Mr Boyle OBE was the majority owner and founder of Direct Holidays Ltd, which was sold to Airtours Plc., in 1998 for £84 million. Prior to this, John established and sold several travel firms and was even the Chief Executive of Owners Abroad Plc - now First Choice Plc., for 9 years.
