FOUR options are now in the running to become the future logo of the newly merged New College Lanarkshire institution, it has been announced.

“As people know, Cumbernauld College and Motherwell College will merge on the 1 November 2013 to become New College Lanarkshire. Whilst student learning will remain the same at all campuses, we still need to have a new name and we want students to get involved,” a spokesperson said.

“The Merger Committee agreed that the students of both colleges should be given the chance to have input into the new brand.

“A project team of students representing both colleges, have been working alongside lecturers and meeting regularly coming up with new ideas.”

The four logo ideas have been unveiled via the New College Lanarkshire website and each is accompanied by sub-brands, which identity the campuses involved; Broadwood, Cumbernauld, Kirkintilloch and Motherwell.

All of the possible brands are now out for consultation and the voting was officially opened yesterday (Monday 8th July), at 10am, and will close on Monday 15th July, at 5pm, with the results collated, with the Merger Committee then making a decision.

People can vote via the New College Lanarkshire website, here: http://www.newcollegelanarkshire.co.uk/?page_id=341.
