PROUD first-time parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have announced that their baby boy is called George Alexander Louis – or, His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, as he will undoubtedly be known.

However, as well as the royal couple’s first child, parents in Lanarkshire have also been celebrating the birth of their own children, made all the more special as their kids will share the name birthday as the little Prince. 

On Tuesday, NHS Lanarkshire announced that a number of births had taken place in Lanarkshire hospitals; an announcement made after His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge’s birth was announced on Tuesday evening.


ABOVE: Ember Rose Watson was one of 13 babies to be born at Wishaw General Hospital on the same day as the Royal baby. Mum Jayne Alexander and Dad Darren Watson are delighted with their new arrival and give year old big brother Lewis is really excited to have a little sister.


ABOVE: Baby Lewis Jack Cumberland was born on the same day as the Royal baby at Wishaw General Hospital and little Jack is the first baby for Mum Kirsty and Dad Thomas; born at 19.51, weighing 6lb 14.5oz. The couple chose the name Lewis as Thomas had proposed to Kirsty on the Isle of Lewis.
