Cumbernauld’s only outdoor market has been cancelled.

The outdoor market, which was held every Saturday afternoon, at Cumbernauld’s second hand charity store, Recap was cancelled earlier this week, until Recap “revitalise” the market.

Announcing the closure on Facebook, Craig Brown said:

“Just a quick message to everyone who attends the market on a regular basis: Sadly, the market has been cancelled for the time being. We are working hard to try and think of new ideas to revitalise the idea, so hopefully we will be back with you all as soon as possible!”

When the market launched in the summer of last year, Recap’s Craig Brown said: “Here at RECAP, we have decided to open our very own fresh and unique, MARKET. Having attracted and secured producers from all over Scotland, we have put together a market which lets the local community of Cumbernauld have a point of purchase for the finest quality products the country as to offer.

Craig concluded: “The market runs from 10am until 4pm, every Saturday of every month. We guarantee to meet your needs with Butcher Meat, Fruit and Veg and Bakery products present at every market.”

The market, which was open between 10am and 4pm, took place outside Recap’s Tannoch Drive location.
