A WOMAN was taken to hospital last Sunday (27th April 2014) after she crashed her car into the wall of a Kilsyth house.

The woman was rescued from her vehicle by Scottish Fire and Rescue firefighters and Scottish Ambulance paramedics after she crashed her car into the wall of a Kilsyth house, on Sunday afternoon (27th April 2014).

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that appliances from Kilsyth and Kirkintilloch community fire stations were called and attended the incident on the B8023, in Kilsyth, shortly before 2pm.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews were mobilised following a request for assistance from Scottish Ambulance Service control and reached the scene around six minutes later. And, in a joint road rescue operation, firefighters deployed hydraulic cutting equipment as paramedics stabilised the casualty.

After being safely released from the vehicle the driver was moved to a waiting ambulance and taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
