THE organisers behind the annual Carbrain Gala Day have unveiled who will sit on the Gala Day throne, this year, as the community prepares for its annual festival of arts, cartoon characters, music and more.

Organisers have confirmed that Carbrain Gala Day will take place on Saturday 15th August, with the annual community fete set to take over the community’s St Margaret of Scotland Primary School, in Broomlands Road.

Unveiling the date for this year’s Gala Day, the event’s organisers – Carbrain and Hillcrest Community Council – also confirmed who will be in this year’s royal party.

Carbrain Primary School pupil Rebecca Tait will be this year’s Queen at Carbrain Gala Day. She will be joined by princesses Caitlin and Kayleigh (all right).

Caitlin McNeil, a pupil of Woodlands Primary School will join Rebecca, as one of her princesses, while St Margaret of Scotland pupil Kayleigh Lennox will be making up the royal trio, as the second princess.

Carbrain and Hillcrest Community Council member William Homer confirmed that this year’s Gala Day will feature “all the usual favourites, including kids’ rides, archery, World of Wings, music from local acts, dance displays by Step by Steps, and much more.

He explained: “We are also having a Disney theme,” asking local kids: “Why not come along as your favourite character?”
