Police "out in force" in Cumbernauld as helicopter circles skies

Concerned residents pointed to the Police helicopter might has been circling parts of the town – mainly circling the Ravenswood and Seafar area of Cumbernauld – will police presence on the ground has been upped too.

POLICE officers are said to be “out in force” throughout Cumbernauld this evening, according to some of Cumbernauld Media’s readers, who have contacted us asking for more information.

Concerned residents pointed out that the Police helicopter has been circling parts of the town – mainly circling the Ravenswood and Seafar areas of Cumbernauld for the past half an hour – while the police presence on the ground has been upped too, according to some residents.

According to readers who have contacted us, the Police helicopter began circling parts of Cumbernauld at shortly after 4:50pm on Wednesday afternoon (4 February), with an alleged increase of Police officers spotted throughout Cumbernauld at around the same time.

No information was available from Police Scotland, and a spokeswoman for Police Scotland explained that no comment could be issued due to it being an ongoing incident.
