OFFICERS from Police Scotland have issued a public appeal for information through the media, in a bid to help find a missing woman from Cumbernauld.

Police Scotland confirmed earlier today (15 February) that they are seeking the assistance of the media and the public in an effort to trace the 22-year-old woman.

Lauren McNally (22) was last seen at around 7pm on Wednesday (11 February) evening, when she was spotted leaving her home in Torbrex Road, Cumbernauld.

Described as white, around 4 ft 11 inches tall, of medium build, with straight, brown, collar-length hair and green eyes, officers are seeking assistance from members of the public and the media to find Lauren’s whereabouts.

Officers say that when Lauren (inset) was last seen she was wearing a long sleeve purple top with white writing on the front, a black t-shirt, blue jeans and wearing black and green training shoes. She was also carrying a blue rucksack.

“Lauren has recently been dealing with some personal issues and officers are keen to trace her to know that she is safe and well,” a Police Scotland spokesperson said.

Police have been carrying out extensive enquiries and have been checking CCTV footage in an effort to gain more information as to Lauren’s whereabouts, but efforts so far have proved unsuccessful, and now officers have turned to the public for assistance.

Anyone who has any knowledge or has any information about Lauren or her whereabouts is asked to contact officers at Cumbernauld Police Station by telephoning 101.
