Police investigating "suspicious" death in Carbrain

POLICE and forensic officers remain out in numbers in Cumbernauld's Glenhove Road area this morning, after reports of a "disturbance", last night.

Forensic officers in white suits have been seen combing the area surrounding the street's split level flats this morning, with a large part of the area cordoned off with police tape.

As investigations continue into exactly what happened, Police Scotland has confirmed that a man has lost has life as a result of a "disturbance" in the street, late last night.

A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed that "at around midnight on Thursday 1st October Police were called to a report of a disturbance in the Glenhove Road area of Cumbernauld."

He explained that officers "attended the scene" and discovered a "man with serious injuries," explaining further than the man had "died at the scene as a result of his injuries."

The force's spokesman added: "A post mortem will be carried out in due course to determine the exact cause of cause.

"However, at this time, the death is being treated as suspicious, and officers are carrying out door to door enquiries in the local area, and are reviewing all available CCTV footage, in an effort to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident enquiries are ongoing at this time."
