AS MEN up and down the country dump the razors and put the shaving cream on the shelf, to raise money for Movember, one local events group are preparing to put on a show, and not a showing of facial hair – a show of live acts and entertainment, that is.

And Then Some Events have told Cumbernauld Media they are putting the final touches on their ‘Studio Mowcase’, a night of live bands and music, in aid of Movember.

The group’s ‘Studio Mowcase’ follows on previous successes the group have had, including ‘Studio Showcase’ and last year’s ‘Mowcase’ fundraiser.

Doors will open at 5pm on Saturday 30th November; at Cumbernauld’s AM Rehearsal Studios, on 32 Grayshill Road, Westfield, Cumbernauld, G68 9HQ, with tickets in advance costing £6, and £8 on the door.

Attendees can expect a line-up including Ally Yarr & Chris Smith; Beth Swan; Craig Horne; David McKay; Glyn Jones; Graeme Hay; Jailhouse Jock; Kiez Fisto; M A D I S O N; Magic Trik; Muttnik; Oceans of You; Palaven; Utopia Falls; Vertigo; and, Vinyl Lights, with more to be confirmed.

Fraser Lindsay, Event Coordinator at And Then Some Events told Cumbernauld Media: “By now you may be familiar with the And Then Some Events ‘Studio Showcase’ events at AM Studios...but have you ever heard of a Mowcase? No, that’s right, nobody has...it’s definitely not even a word!

“We’ve set ourselves the rather ambitious challenge of beating last year’s fundraising total of £1,025, so we would very much appreciate any persons willing to grab their face by the handlebars and sign up for our team.”

Movember is an annual charity drive, during which men are encouraged to grow out their facial hair throughout November; receive donations and help the Movember charity raise awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer. This year, the charity is seeing support from brands such as Mitre and HP sauces.

Fraser added: “We’ve set ourselves the rather ambitious challenge of beating last year’s fundraising total of £1,025, so we would very much appreciate any persons willing to grab their face by the handlebars and sign up for our team.

“It’s going to be a great Mowcase, a great line up...and we hope to see a lot of great moustaches! Go on, do us proud!

“Tickets are available now via www.atsevents.bigcartel.com or from AM Rehearsal Studios. All tickets purchased online will be available to pick up from the venue on the day of the event. Due to licensing requirements all persons under 16-years-of-age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.”
